Kidnappers arrested in Uganda

A group of kidnappers from West Africa who have been allegedly kidnapping foreign investors in Uganda have been arrested by police.

Four Nigerian thugs suspected to have been kidnapping foreign investors and getting big amounts of money as ransom before releasing them are behind bars in Uganda.

Apart from kidnapping activities, the Nigerians have been living illegally in the country and by the time of their arrest had a lot of counterfeit currencies.

Among those they recently kidnapped and got money from them are Robert James an Australian national and Robert Mullahar an American national.

The Nigerians were reportedly also found with forged signatures of President Yoweri Museveni and other fake government documents and agreements purportedly awarding contracts in the oil and gas sector.

According to Uganda police deputy spokesman, Patrick Onyango, the Nigerian suspects are being held on charges of forgery, possession of government property, kidnap, aggravated trafficking, illegal stay in Uganda and possession of counterfeit currencies.

According to Uganda police deputy spokesman, Patrick Onyango, the atrrested Nigerian s have been identified as Sunday Osiora, Joachim Onyeeakor Ogochukwu, David Onyendeka and Lykesam Argordi Madu.

”About a month ago, those gangsters are suspected to have kidnapped an Australian national and demanded a ransom of 650,000 euros. They negotiated and settled for 350,000 Euros before he was released.” Onyango said.

He said that on August 13th, the Nigerians are suspected to have kidnapped another American businessman and demanded 50,000 US dollars before they let him free.

After thorough investigations, the Nigerian suspects are going to be taken to court to be charged with the offenses the committed.
