Dear my fellow humans, if there are any left:

Gender Neuturality

I don’t about you but whenever I hear these words:

  1. He/she was at the wrong place, wrong time.
  2. He/she boarded a doomed plane/wrong car.
  3. He/she should’ve had security cameras in his/her home.
  4. He/she should’ve hired security guards for his/her small business.
  5. His/her child should’ve been transferred to a safer school.
  6. His/her family should’ve known the man/woman he/she was married to.
  7. He/she should’ve left him/her long time ago.
  8. He/she shouldn’t have been granted parole while he/she still lives in the same place.
  9. He/she shouldn’t have been in the park that late evening.
  10. He/she shouldn’t have been walking alone in his/her neighborhood.
  11. He/she should’ve moved to a safer community.
  12. He/she should’ve known which streets to avoid walking home.
  13. He/she shouldn’t have been resting in his/her backyard that late.
  14. This neighborhood used to be nice, safe, clean and lively.
  15. Etc…
  16. Etc…
  17. Etc…

I away cringe and asked myself, when will we return to being humans with intellect again? When will we act like humans with functioning brains again? When will we be truthful about this unacceptable insanity? What makes a good or bad neighborhood? Is it buildings or residents that makes a neighborhood livable or warzone? What’s the meaning of wrong place, wrong time in one’s community? How peaceful are we, really?

To fix all that ills us, we must be the remedy. People’s lives, fortunes, family and honor must safe with us, individually. Violent crimes aren’t inevitable. They are committed by people we know, love and live with. We can end them.

Please join our bi-weekly ‘Meeting of Peaceful Minds’ this Sunday at 3:00 PM @ Peace December Headquarters. Have a peaceful weekend.
