“We won’t accept interference in our own affairs”- says Qatari Foreign Minister
Dramatic cranny between Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Qatar took another turn as Qatar refused to accept all the implementations of the conditions imposed by KSA.
Gulf crisis calls for serious concerns as instability in the region keeps growing with Saudi Arabia and its allies intensifying cutting of air, sea and ground links including import of food with Qatar in addition to KSA’s ridiculous deportation nearly 50 thousand camels back to Qatar.
According to the Think Tank, Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdurrahman Al Thani was called by GCC to resolve the Gulf issue.
Thani told Think Tank that Qatar would do whatever it takes to protect the sovereignty of its people.
He however said, “Qatar continues to call for dialogue. We welcome any serious efforts to resolve our differences with our neighbors.”
Media reports disclosed on Wednesday that Qatari Foreign Minister was called for dialogue to resolve the diplomatic tie cuts between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
Later, they put forward a list of 13 demands for Qatar to fulfill by the end of Monday.
And in his response, the Qatari FM said, “The list of conditions for restoring relations is unrealistic and is not actionable. We won’t accept interference in our own affairs.”
Al-Jazeera reported that among those 13 demands the most prominent bloc’s demands to Qatar included shutting down the Al-Jazeera Channel and scaling down ties with Iran, handing over individuals wanted for terrorism and aligning itself politically and economically Gulf Co-operation Council.
During press conference Qatari FM told German counterpart Sigmar Gabriel, “It’s not about terrorism, it’s talking about shutting down freedom of speech.”
According to the Al-Jazeera, KSA diplomats said Qatar lacked “understanding of the seriousness and gravity of situation.”
Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said that they would take steps against Qatar in the accordance with International Law.
“We’re not doing this because we want to hurt Qatar, we are doing this to help Qatar,” he stated.
