It is stated that, at President Robert Mugabe’s youth rally in Gandwa, on Saturday, which the Vice President also had attended in person, Mnangagwa started vomiting and he was immediately rushed to a hospital in Gweru.
However, his situation is reported to have worsened on Sunday morning, forcing the ones in charge to fly him out of the country on the same day at 10:20am, for better treatment. The Vice President was taken out of Zimbabwe to South Africa, in company of his wife, Auxillia.
“He is now out of the country to seek further medical attention following the poisoning,” – reports have shown.
Inside sources elaborate that the Vice President started vomiting as soon as he has finished taking a “milkshake” that was served at the event on Saturday.
Speaking of the would be tragedy now, people on Mnangagwa’s side believe that he was intentionally poisoned, as there was a plot against him, to be kicked out of the system.
According to the various sources, Mnangagwa had earlier on offered to resign from his post after reportedly continuous ‘public humiliations’ – as he termed it, from Grace Mugabe, but, President Mugabe rejected it.
At a campaign rally in Chinhoyi a few days earlier, Grace Mugabe, the First lady, told the two vice presidents (Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko), that they would risk losing their jobs if they did not reach up to President Mugabe’s expectations, because, they are working at ‘her husband’s will.’
In response to this, Mnangagwa said that he would not take the humiliation, and he cannot fight with his junior, referring to Grace Mugabe – sources explained.
It is also remembered that Mnangagwa, is also looked at as a suitable candidate for being Mugabe’s successor, a thing that Grace Mugabe and some members of the ZANU-PF party don’t agree to.
