Bander Seri Begwan: On October 13, 2017, according to state’s official state media, Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony graced the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
It is reported that the ceremony was held in the presence of King Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam.
In the beginning of the ceremony Sultan recited few verses from Holy Quran and the ceremony started.
Nearly, one thousand five hundred participants took part in the ceremony to express the gratitude of the citizens and residents in the country towards Allah the Almighty.
The Royal family was greeted by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Minister of Home Affairs as Co-Chairmen of the Executive Committee for the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne.
The participants came from different walks of life. As a religious leader King paid full attention to the ceremony and he himself selected the winner.
Furthermore people from all across the country had free access to that ceremony.
