John Perez Announces run for 32nd State Senate
By Robert Press
This was a move many in Bronx politics were speculating on since the fall out of then State Senator Ruben Diaz Sr. and then Assemblyman Luis Sepulveda after the 2018 election. While Newly elected Councilman Ruben Diaz was then supporting Sepulveda to replace him in the state senate, Councilman Ruben Diaz (and Candidate for the 15th Congressional District) has now replaced Sepulveda with current 87th A.D. district Leader John Perez as his choice for the 32nd State Senate district.
It was the Annual Diaz Christmas Party at Maestros, and despite bone chilling weather almost everybody was in the house at Maestros. After everyone had a delicious meal Councilman Ruben Diaz told everyone that he was indeed running for the soon to be vacant 15th Congressional seat of Jose Serrano. That however was not the big news of the night, with 87th A.D. district Leader John Perez standing next to him Diaz said that TEAM DIAZ 2020 would have some new members. He said that he has known John Perez like a son, and that John Perez will be his choice for the 32nd State Senate District. John Perez a former career U.S. Army Sergeant who has only left his home base for a few years when serving abroad, has always had concerns about what is going on in the area he lived. Mr. George Alvarez running to replace Michael Blake in the 79th Assembly District, and Councilman Rafael Salamanca are also members of TEAM DIAZ 2020.
