Authority of the Àmọ̀tẹ́kùn Security Outfit in the western region of Nigeria has met with the Osun State Muslim Community on the alleged ploy to marginalize Muslims in the recruitment exercise.

The interaction was a sequel to the communiqué issued by the Osun State Muslim Community, faulting the structure and establishment of the security outfit created for the protection of lives and properties in the region.

In a press release on Wednesday 22nd January, 2019 by the body, it was stated that, “The authority of the security outfit has assured all Muslims that the establishment of the security outfit was never aimed at marginalizing followers of any religion.

According to the President of Osun State Muslim Community, Alhaji Mustafa Olawuyi, the interaction with the leaders of the security outfit was successful and it would allay fears harbored by the Muslim Community.

“This is to inform everyone of the successful interaction between the authority of Àmọ̀tẹ́kùn Outfit and the Osun State Muslim Community, which resulted in proper understanding of the issue among all the stakeholders,” he said.

The Àmọ̀tẹ́kùn security outfit is in the interest of the entire southwest and we want to allay the fears of the teeming population of the Muslims that the outfit has no plan to marginalize or shortchange the interest of Islam and Muslims.

“No one would be put in darkness whenever the operational structure and guidelines are out before implementation,” he added.

However, the body noted that the security situation in the region was bad and needed to be addressed collectively and urgently, stressing that proper planning is highly essential to avoid highjacking the process for other strange purposes.

Alhaji Olawuyi therefore commended the efforts of all stakeholders for peaceful and cordial interactions devoid of rancor and chaos.

“We pray for peace, harmony and progress in Osun State under the able leadership of our Govemor Alhaji lsiaka Adegboyega Oyetola,” he prayed.

“We want to state here unequivocally that the Executive Governor of Osun State has maintained equity and justice among adherents of various religions in the state and this is worthy of emulation by all,” he concluded.
