Syria returns bodies of Hezbollah fighters

The bodies of Hezbollah militants who fought alongside the Syrian regime of president Bashar Al–Assad have been returned to Lebanon.

Disclosing in a statement on Monday March 3rd, the group stated that the bodies were those killed in the Syrian governorate of Idlib.

Several footages which showed thousands of mourners holding the coffins of the eight militants killed in the recent confrontations in Idlib have been released.

“Eight of our fighters who died on Friday in the northwest Syria were killed during battles against armed opposition groups and in airstrikes carried out by Turkey,” Lebanese Hezbollah militant group said in statement.

The funeral of five of the fighters was held on Sunday in South Beirut.

A crowd of few thousand people mostly relatives and supporters walked behind the coffins wrapped in yellow Hezbollah flags amid shout of “Allahu Akbar” meaning “God is great”.
