Covid-19: UAE records 783 new cases, two deaths
UAE is recording spikes in Covid-19 spread every day as the country on Tuesday recorded 783 new cases and two deaths bringing the total number fo confirmed cases to 19,661 and death toll to 203.
The new cases were from different nationalities in the country among whom two residents died of the covid-19 complications.
At the start of Ramadan, the country has loosened lockdown restrictions allowing restaurants and malls to open, and unfortunately since then the number of cases is rapidly increasing.
The government was able to get the numbers of the infected persons through its recently launched UAE’s intensified testing programs to contain the spread of the outbreak in the country.
As of Tuesday, more 32,000 tests were conducted on people including those who have directly or indirectly contact with anyone who were previously infected.
As the number keeps increasing theministry of health has called on the members of the public to be mindful how they conduct their affairs and observe social distancing measures.
Dr. Farida al-Hosani, Health ministry spokeswoman in a tweet on Monday said, “While the restrictions on public movement during the holy month of Ramadan have been partially reduced, we remind the public to continue to follow the social and health guidelines specified by #UAEGov.”
