MURIC reacts to statement allegedly made by Miyetti Allah
Prof. Ishaq Akintola, Director of the Muslim Rights Concern, has reacted to a statement credited to Miyetti Allah Group.
In his reaction to the unconfirmed statement on Saturday June 6, 2020, Prof Akintola alleged that the National President of Miyetti Allah, Kautal Hore, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, was quoted to have said that “Fulani will rule Nigeria forever”.
Prof. Akintola therefore called on the group to authenticate the statement, stressing that the country does not belong to a particular group.
While appealing to Nigerians to ignore the provocative statement, he warned that no ethic group has the birthright to monopolize the leadership position of the country.
“We call on Miyetti Allah to confirm or deny the alleged statement. We affirm that Nigeria belongs to no particular tribe and every ethnic group has a stake in the Nigerian project. Leadership is therefore not the birthright of any ethnicity,” he said.

“We appeal to Nigerians to ignore the statement allegedly made by Miyetti Allah and to allow the group to make clarifications. We call on leaders to avoid divisive, explosive and provocative statements,” he added.
“We strongly suspect that the alleged statement is either a product of fake news or that the real statement had been deliberately distorted or that Miyetti Allah leader has been inadvertently misquoted. This is why a clarification is necessary at this point in time.
“MURIC will continue to stand for justice, fairness and equal rights no matter whose ox is gored. Stability, peace and prosperity in every part of Nigeria is the major concern of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC). Neither shall we favour one tribe over another,” he concluded.
