Ghana church collapse kills 22, injures many

At least 22 people have been killed with several injured in a church collapse in Eastern Ghana.

The collapse which involved a six-story building happened on Friday October 23, 2020.

Agyemang Prempeh, a coordinator with the National Disaster Management Organization said, “Rescue teams were able to reach eight people but 22 bodies were pulled from the rubble in the Asene-Manso district.”

“Search and rescue efforts are still ongoing while four more bodies were pulled from the debris after 18 people were reported dead,” he added

Eye witnesses reported that more than 60 people were at the site when the accident occurred.
