IIAFNIGERIA appoints Dr AbdulQadir Director General
West African Islamic Institute of Accounting and Finance has appointed Dr AbdulQadir AbdulLateef Ola as Director General during the last AGM held in Ilorin, Kwara State.
According to a report on Wednesday June 2, 2021, Dr. AbdulQadir is to head all administrative and academic activities of the institute.
While speaking during the handover ceremony, Prof Asiwaju Busari Shaamsuddeen Akande, the pioneer Registrar/CEO and Director General of Non Interest Finance Professionals of West Africa based in Dakar, Senegal, affirmed that Dr Abdullateef was a known person to the institute and his professional excellence during his years in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, UAE and Malaysia would assist the IIAFNIGERIA in achieving its objectives.
The report adds that Dr AbdulQadir, an indigene of Iwo Town in Osun State, has taught in various academic capacities and specialized in Islamic finance, Shari’a compliance in financial instruments, Ethics Business, Zakat and currently in Halal (lawful) products in general.
He also obtained his bachelor’s degree in Quran and Islamic studies at the Islamic University of Medina, in Saudi Arabia KSA.
He graduated with a second class ( upper division) ond 2nd July 1997, Msc in Islamic Revealed knowledge (Quranic science) IIUM Malaysia on 22nd August 2004, and obtained PhD in Islamic finance from the international Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
The DG is an expert in Islamic finance whose expertise cuts across Africa middle East and South East Asia countries.
He was attached to the international Zakat organization (JAWHAR) prime Minister’s department in Malaysia where he Rose to Deputy manager.
Dr AbdulQadir has been attached to many private and State Universities in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.
He was employed as assistant professor Manager of the international Insaniah foundation at Insaniah University Malaysia. Dr AbdulQadir was technical supervisor and senior adviser for the Holy Quran exhibition, inaugurated by HRH Prince Faisal bin AbdulAziz Al Saud, Medina Al Munawarah KSA.
Dr AbdulQadir AbdulLateef Ola’s experience extends to West Asia, the Gulf and South East Asia institutions and Muslim entrepreneur across the OIC. He has participated in many conferences, as well as intellectual forums and summits of the NON ALLIGNED Movement summit and organization of Islamic cooperation summit held in 2003 in Putra Jaya Malaysia.
