Ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza grim tale of tragedy, injustice — OIC
In a resounding denunciation of the relentless Israeli military onslaught on Gaza, Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has strongly condemned the ongoing aggression that has persisted for a harrowing twenty-three days.
According to the Islamic organisation, the situation in Gaza has taken a catastrophic turn, resulting in the tragic loss of thousands of lives and the grievous injuries of countless innocent civilians, among them women, children, dedicated medical personnel, and brave journalists.
Moreover, the Israeli aggression has left in its wake a trail of destruction, deliberately targeting buildings, hospitals, schools, places of worship, and United Nations facilities.
The harrowing reality is that Israel continues to threaten hospitals, restricting access to vital necessities such as food, medicine, water, and electricity.
This constitutes not only a collective punishment but also a series of war crimes, a stark violation of international law, and a breach of international humanitarian norms.
The Secretary-General of the OIC has also underscored the organization’s strong rejection and condemnation of the escalating acts of violence, incitement, and organized terrorism carried out by extremist settler groups and Israeli occupation forces against Palestinian citizens across the West Bank, including the sacred city of Al-Quds.
OIC maintained that “This situation paints a chilling picture of injustice and human suffering.”
It demands urgent international attention and intervention to bring an end to this cycle of brutality and devastation.
