Riyadh to host emergency Arab summit on Nov. 11

An urgent assembly of the Summit of Arab heads of state and leaders has been slated to convene on Saturday, November 11th, with Saudi Arabia at the helm.

The Arab League’s General Secretariat has disclosed the reception of an official petition from Palestine and Saudi Arabia to organize an extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the summit level, according to Al-Sharq Bloomberg’s Tuesday report. Saudi Arabia currently presides over the 32nd session of the Arab League.

Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, announced the General Secretariat’s receipt of an official request from Palestine and Saudi Arabia on Monday.

The summit has been convened to address the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip. The General Secretariat has duly circulated the memorandums from Palestine and Saudi Arabia to all Arab member states.
