Crown Prince opens Saudi-CARICOM Summit in Riyadh
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman inaugurated the inaugural Saudi-CARICOM Summit in Riyadh on Thursday, representing the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman.
The summit, attended by heads of state, presidents, and high-ranking officials from 15 CARICOM member countries, is co-chaired by the Crown Prince and CARICOM Chairman Roosevelt Skerrit, the Prime Minister of Dominica.
The summit commenced with a commemorative group photo featuring the Crown Prince alongside heads of state and leaders from CARICOM nations. The Saudi delegation, led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, includes prominent figures such as Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
Discussions during the summit will encompass various mutual concerns, including investments, trade, infrastructure projects, hospitality, climate change, energy, and environmental sustainability. CARICOM, an intergovernmental organization and economic union comprising 15 member states, focuses on promoting economic integration, equitable distribution of integration benefits, and coordination of foreign policies.
The Riyadh-Caribbean Summit reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to forge alliances worldwide, aligning with its Vision 2030 initiative spearheaded by the Crown Prince. This diplomatic engagement aims to diversify the kingdom’s sources of income and foster collaboration with nations across the globe.
