Saudi KSrelief team collaborates with Palestine red crescent society to provide urgent aid to Gaza
A specialized team from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) in Saudi Arabia, currently stationed in El Arish, Egypt, held a remote meeting with Marwan Jilani, the Director General of the Palestine Red Crescent Society.
Dr. Mai Arif, Director of the Palestine Red Crescent Society office in Cairo, was also present during the discussions.
The meeting focused on clarifying Saudi Arabia’s relief and humanitarian efforts, encompassing food, shelter aid, and medical supplies. The KSrelief team outlined plans for transporting these provisions through an air bridge and an upcoming sea bridge. Notably, seven Saudi relief planes have already arrived to assist the people in the Gaza Strip.
The team, informed about the urgent need for aid, received detailed briefings on aid lists and types. Discussions also centered on the humanitarian needs and projects that KSrelief could contribute to in collaboration with the Palestine Red Crescent Society.
The two sides explored cooperation mechanisms for delivering Saudi humanitarian relief to Gaza and ensuring it reaches those in need. Marwan Jilani expressed gratitude for the Saudi government and people’s humanitarian role in supporting Palestinians during crises. KSrelief affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to alleviating humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip.
The team closely monitored the progress of relief convoys led by KSrelief, en route to the Rafah crossing, and verified procedures for their entry into Gaza. Some relief convoys have already started entering Gaza through the crossing.
