Gambia: APRC Dakar Branch Renews Support to President Jammeh

The executive committee of both the Gambian community and APRC Dakar Branch in Dakar, Republic of Senegal, have written to the president of the Republic, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, renewing their unflinching support to him and his government.

In a letter sent tothe Daily Observer by the Gambian High Commission in Senegal signed by Karamba Badjie, president and Mamina Bojang, secretary general, the branch also denounced the recent demonstration staged at the Gambia High Commission in Dakar saying they stand by the government and will never make a U-turn against the leadership.

The letter reads:

The executive committee of both the Gambian community and APRC Dakar Branch in Dakar, Republic of Senegal, extends our hearth felt greetings to His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh, president of the Republic of The Gambia and has the honour to felicitate him on the occasion of the Muslim feast of Eid-ul Fittr Mubarak (Koriteh).

We want to use this rare occasion to reiterate our firm and unflinching support to His Excellency the President on all his endeavours and commitments that he is rendering for the Gambian people irrespective of religion, tribe, race or sex. We are one hundred per cent and are fully behind his government laws, rules and regulations that have surely proven that The Gambia our motherland is a sovereign state.

In this regard, we are also fully aware of the recent demonstrations that took place on Thursday 30th August 2012, at the premises of the High Commission. We still remain committed to the Gambian embassy for their stand and will never make a U-turn to our able and dynamic leader, Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh and his government, and will always rally and support his government’s initiatives.

We avail ourselves of this opportunity to wish His Excellency the president of the Republic of The Gambia, the Gambian people and the government of the day with abundant wisdom, good health and long live as they tries to steer the affairs of our great nation, The Gambia to higher heights.
