“It has been a great pleasure of mine to work with the other members of the African Day Parade Committee and watch this event grow over the years.  This is a day of celebration of African heritage, culture, unity and pride for all of us.  We must always look for ways to nurture it and preserve it for future generations, for ourselves and for the world” said Senator Perkins.

“This is an opportunity for us to showcase our many African cultures.  It is very important that we display them for our community and for our children.” said event co-founder Mamadou Kone.
