A car  bomb has blasted off at Somalia parliament today afternoon in the country’s capital, Mogadishu .

According to Somali police officer, Salim Khalid, the bomb that blasted near the entry to the praliament building killed one Somalia security officer. Two others sustained minor injuries.

Khalid said, ‘A car bomb went off near the parliamentary building. It has killed one of our security officers. The police has cordoned off the area and investigations about the blast have been started by police, army and AMISOM.’

A senior security officer in Somalia, who requested not to be named, said that although AMISOM and national army have taken over Mogadishu and most parts of Somalia, Al-Shabab Islamists are still hidden there.

‘We have to be careful because I am sure those thugs will resort to suicide bombing and other clandestine methods of killing.’ he said.

Somalia has been ravaged by war which has been taking place for over two decades. AMISOM, made up of 17000 Ugandan and Burundian troops has been fighting alongside Somalia army to bring back sanity in the country.

Recently Kenya also sent it’s troops into Somalia to pursue terrorists who had started abducting foreign tourists and later asking for ransom before being released.
