On February 8th, Council Member Peter F. Vallone Jr. addressed the congregations of the Jamaica Islamic Center and Jamaica Muslim Center.
Vallone discussed his support for having Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Adha observed as public school holidays and making Halal food available in school cafeterias, as well as his legislation calling on the City to provide security for nonpublic schools, among other issues.
