The recently released results of Kenya presidential elections indicate that the son of Jomo Kenyata, the first first Kenyan president, Uhuru Kenyatta is ahead of his main rival Raila Odinga.

The results indicate that with about 45 of the results tallied, Uhuru Kenyatta has so far garnered 3,134,654 votes while Odinga has 2,563,320 votes.

Kenya’s elections body has however warned the citizens again speculation about the winner because it is still to early to determine who has won.

Raila Odinga’s camp has already started complaining saying that the results so far announced were doctored, an allegation the elections bod has vehemently denied.

There is tension in the country as people eagerly wait for the final results. The counting of the votes has been affected by the crashing of the computer which were being used and led to the exercise to be done manually.

In 2007 over 1000 people were killed and thousands displaced in crashes that erupted after the elections when some camps claimed that they had been cheated.
