West African bank gets new director

Former journalist, Saïdou M. Ouédraogo has been appointed as the new director of communication, marketing and public relations at the West African Development Bank (WADB) which belongs to 8 West African countries.

A born of Burkina Faso, Saïdou M. Ouédraogo holds a Master’s Degree in the Arts from the University of Ouagadougou.

He graduated from the School of Journalism in Lille (France) in 1986. He then joined the editorial team at Afrique-Elite magazine, in Paris, before taking up a post with Burkina Faso Television as economic correspondent, which he held from 1988 to 1996.

In 1996, Saïdou M. Ouédraogo was appointed Director of Communication for the Presidency of Burkina Faso. He was appointed Director of Assets at the West African Development Bank (WADB) in February 2009, before then being appointed Director of Communication, Marketing and Public Relations at the West African Development Bank (WADB).

The WADB is the common finance development institution for the eight Member States of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA): Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo.

Its purpose is to promote balanced development of its Member States and to foster economic integration in West Africa by funding priority development projects.
