…for Allah loveth not the wasters.

Dear Muslim brothers and sisters observing the Holy month of Ramadan. I congratulate you for your devotions and steadfastness to your faith.

“O Children of Adam! Wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer: eat and drink: But waste not by excess, for Allah loveth not the wasters.” Holy Quran.

Please, please join me in reaching out to all our Muslim families to warn them of the usual wastages of foodstuff, especially during this month. It is Haram to waste resources.  Wasting food cancels the meaning and spirit of fasting. It is the exact opposite of fasting.  Feeding the poor, disable, sick and strangers with clean and well prepared food (the same food you feed your family with) is among the highest deeds in Ramadan. Wasting food is among the worst.  Moderation in everything is an obligation in Islam. Only take what you like and can finish without throwing any edible food or drinkable water in the trashes.  Allah (SW) equates wasting to imitating Satan (the devil).  Please take the lead in your Masjid in insisting on preventing this bad act.  May Allah (SW) guide us. #ramadan
