Society continues to produce young murderers

Washington, DC – The National Black Church Initiative (NBCI), a faith-based coalition of 34,000 churches comprised of 15 denominations and 15.7 million African Americans, deplores the violence of Mr. Johnson that was visited upon the whole city of Dallas with the systematic killing of five Dallas Police officers and injuring of seven. He is no hero. He has set back the course of racial reconciliation and by no means does he represent the soul of the African American community. He is just another troubled young man that this society continues to produce, who created an illusionary mental perspective that they can solve society’s deep racial wounds with murder. Dylann Roof is another one who believed that by killing nine Christians praying in a church that it would solve and heal his racist heart and start a race war that this country is too familiar with.

Rev. Anthony Evans President of the National Black Church Initiative says, “Our Nation has decided that they are willing to accept young mass murderers and that they will do whatever is necessary to kill them as they kill others. This is not a policy or strategy. Thinking such as this is barbaric in nature and this type of thinking should never come from a civilized society but we have embraced an archaic caveman mentality so the only thing we can expect going forward is producing more young psychotic mass killers who have no access to good, solid, proven, mental services, and our institutions such as schools and the military continue to fail, and produce these psychotic killers who are our neighbors. We will not as a Church community hate and call for the death for either one of those individuals, even though our society reached a new level of barbarianism by using a robot to blow up another human being. How outrageous. What lesson should we learn from this?”

Both of these individuals suffer from a deep psychosis that has its roots in mental illness. They truly believe that murder is the only path to the sunlight of brotherhood. Murder, as it has been proven time after time, only causes more pain that leads to more murder. Mr. Johnson as well as Mr. Roof, thought that they at twenty some years old had figured out this nation’s racial solution. They are both wrong. Both of their actions are evil and unacceptable and both of those actions are deplorable in the rawest sense of the word and condemned by every child of light. Whether Black, White, gay straight, Asian or Latino we deplore their actions.
