Another Boring White Male in 2016 as the Democratic Vice President Candidate Pick (Tim Kaine) Says Rev. Anthony Evans of The National Black Church Initiative;  

Washington, DC – The National Black Church Initiative (NBCI), a faith-based coalition of 34,000 churches comprised of 15 denominations and 15.7 million African Americans, expressed dismay over Hillary Clinton’s pick for Vice President. There is no excitement about the pick of a another white male to be the number two on the democratic ticket after the historical election of the first African American president. This is a big step backwards in the face of the current racial upheaval. His presence will do little or anything to bridge the current racial divide. The black community was looking for a sign that Hillary would be different and bold.

Rev. Anthony Evans, President of the National Black Church Initiative, says, “this may cause many African Americans to stay home amidst the weakness of the current democratic administration and their inability to protect black males and children from the brutal onslaught of the white racist, murderous cops and their assault on the black community. Clinton and Kaine are not going to stop these attacks and bring the nation together.”  Rev. Evans further states: “The Clinton-Kaine ticket offers no innovative, out-of-the-box solutions dealing with African American concerns in terms of jobs, economic development, fair housing, and expanded health role and a systematic stop of the prison industrial complex that targets low income, African American males.  They will not expand opportunity because of the current democratic administration of Barack Obama who has demonstrated the inability to curtail racial segregation in education and his ability to do nothing about providing avenues of capital for business development. It is the only administration in recent years that black businesses have fallen.”

Her pick of Kaine is sad, too safe, and will not have an impact toward turning out black voters. The percentage of black voters in the primary elections was down. There remains a lot of work for the Clinton campaign to do. And as we know, depending upon the percentage of the black voters, the election can be determined. This pick says Clinton is not as concerned about her draw of the African American vote as she is concerned about her draw of White males.  White males who continue to be less drawn to Clinton will not flock to her because of the boring pick of Kaine.
