On behalf of Community Peace Patrol officers (CPPO), its captains and volunteers, we would like to congratulate and welcome the new NYPD leadership at One Police Plaza.

We are very excited for Chief James O’Neill to be our next Police Commissioner. His only shortcoming is he is from Brooklyn instead of what our Borough President correctly called “The God’s County”- the Bronx.

Chief O’Neill, the architect of our new Community Policing, could not have come at a more opportune time to continue the downward spiral of crime and violence in New York City. One of his most valuable law enforcement attributes is his demeanor. As challenging as policing this city is, his demeanor will win him more friends and less foes as a Commissioner.

Also to describe a unifier, one would begin with Chief Carlos M. Gomez, who, by the way, can’t get enough of my special tea.  We’re so blessed to see Mr. Gomez becoming the highest uniform leader in the NYPD.

Furthermore, according to published reports, New York City is terrorists’ most valuable venue to attack, so keeping Mr. John Miller, one of the most competent anti extremists professionals in the nation, is Mr. O’Neill’s smartest leadership move to keep us all safe. May God bless their leadership! God bless New York.
