On Wednesday, August 3rd, New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer hosted a roundtable discussion at LaGuardia Community College with community leaders from Sunnyside and Woodside, Queens. During the meeting, Comptroller Stringer discussed how the City can build more affordable housing, the need for community-based planning, and ways to create economic opportunity in Queens and across the five boroughs.

“Our City is in the midst of real change, and we must ensure that the long-term residents who built up neighborhoods like Sunnyside and Woodside are not left behind. The local leaders whom I met with this past Wednesday have shown real dedication to their communities, and it is critical that they have a seat at the table in any discussion about the future of Sunnyside and Woodside,” New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer said. “Our meeting touched on a number of key local issues, from increased transportation resources to supporting our schools. I look forward to working with all of those who came to create real, positive change in Sunnyside and Woodside – and across our City.”
