Dear New Yorkers:

We’re humbly inviting you to our launching of a poverty eradicating campaign on the Labor Day, Monday, September 5, 2016. A press conference will be held on that day with religious, community and labor activists in front of Peace December Headquarters, 2006 Westchester Avenue, Bronx, New York 10462.

This campaign is in honor of our late Rev. Reinaldo Daniel Diaz.

As Danny would shout to his lungs for the world to hear, to stop the vicious cycle of poverty and violence, we must stop the vicious cycle of stupidity.

This poverty eradicating campaign would require at least fifty percent (50%) of all federal, state, municipal and not-for profit contracts, compensations/salaries, management, leadership, decisions, ownership, and all other benefits must go to the residents of the neighborhoods where services are being provided, along with capacity building clauses, because women and minority designations, all other poverty-inducement subsidies are not enough.

We can not fight poverty by awarding multimillion dollar contracts that pay six figure salaries to outside leaders and minimum wages to poor residents. And allowing high earning savvy entrepreneurs to use the persistent plight of residents of target neighborhoods with taxpayers’ dollars, widens the ‘have and have nothing’ gap. Enough is enough!

If the excuse is not having enough qualified personnel in target neighborhoods, then we can easily solve the problem by training them.

Please meet with your elected officials this month to demand them to join #fiftyplus campaign. It is to their benefit as well. Use all media to spread #50+, #fiftyplus.  Thank you and God bless!
