9th AFRICAN UNION DAY CELEBRATION
Once again we’re honored to invite you to our 9th Annual African Union Day Celebration in the Bronx, New York City.
In July 2006 African Union Day Foundation in collaboration with the New York City Council (under the leadership of Hon. Annabel Palma, the Bronx) initiated City Council Resolution to make September 9th official African Union Day in the City, which was unanimously adopted by the Council in the following year on September 9, 2007.
Again in 2011, the Foundation collaborated with the New York State Assembly (under the leadership of Hon. Hakeem Jefferies, Brooklyn) and the African Union Secretariat to officially make May 25th Africa Day in New York State.
This year, the Foundation is using this occasion to push for greater civic participation and economic independence, especially during this year’s crucial local and national elections. All are welcome!
