Bronx: Bangladeshi community Advancement’s (BCA) held inauguration at Golden Palace party center located in Parkchester on Monday night August 29, 2016. The organization’s newly elected officials took the oath in front of Senator Rubio Diaz with a slogan “Promise for a Brighter tomorrow”. The ceremony began with the national anthem. BCA Senior Vice President and celebration committee Masudur Rahman presided over the ceremony.
After taking the oath of Riaz Kamran, President of the organization, presided over the ceremony. The ceremony was presented with cooperation from John Uddin, Zakir Khan and Sharmin Reza Eva. Senator Rubio Diaz and Assemblyman Luis Sepulveda awarded to some organizations and some prominent individuals for contribution in various community work.
Attorney Moin Chowdhury, among others, spoke on the occasion as the chief guest, special guest, New York State Senator Rubio Diaz, commanding officer of the New York City Police Department 43 Police precinct Fasto B Pisarado, Jackson Heights Bangladeshi Business Association Senior Vice President, Shahnawaz, Principal of Mamun tutorial Sheikh Al-Mamun, the board chairman of condominiums Parkacestara Abu Shakur, a former president of the Bangladesh Society, Kamal Ahmed, former general secretary Ruhul Amin Siddiqui, Ataur Rahman Selim, Parkacestara family pharmacy owner Gourob Kothari (Mr. G), Bangladesh American Cultural Association president Abdul Hashim, Mahbubul Alam, Robert George, Faisal Ahmed, Muzammil Hussain Murad, Imam siddiki, Humayun Chowdhury, Nahid Khan, Junaid Ahmed Chowdhury, Nazmul Islam, FM Misbah Uz Zaman, Naima Mia and others. There were mainstream politicians along with a large number of American Bangladeshis.
The Senator Ruben Diaz said, “We love Bangladesh and respect BCA. We are celebrating Bangladesh day for past years in State Senate.”
The inauguration ceremony was followed by couple of local Bangladeshi artists presentation and performances which were noteworthy.
