MUSLIM COMMUNITY REPORT:
In support of the City Council Resolution 1230, Council Member Daneek Miller (District 27) holds a Press Conference and Hearing on Anti-Islamophobia on October 11, 2016 at 9 AM and 10 AM at City Hall. Council Resolution 1230, declares “support for Muslim communities, affirming the religious pluralism of the United States, and urging all residents to stand together for peace and understanding.”
The office of the Council member Miller has invited all specially the members of Muslim community to join. Individuals interested to testify are requested to sign up to testify at the hearing to make sure their testimonial goes on the record. Council Member Daneek Miller organizes the event in partnership with Progressive Caucus, Black, Latino & Asian Caucus, City Council Members, advocates and community leaders.
Community and faith leaders believe Muslim Community should come out and stand with Elected Officials, Advocates and Community Leaders as the City Council takes a stand against hatred & bigotry against their fellow New Yorker and any Islamophobia rhetoric.
