Bars and Clubs in DRC’s capital Kinshasa and other towns were open and full of revelers till morning today as natives celebrated their national football teams’ ”The Leopards” win over Morocco by 1 goal to nil.
The Leopards are now on top of table of group C after their success against the Lions of the Atlas of Morocco on a goal to zero. Junior Kabananga scored for DRC in the 54th minute.
With eight corners to Morocco, the West Africans dominated the 1st half of the game.
Moroccans dominated the match on the statistics table by 59% in possession of ball against 41 for DRC, 16 shots at goal against DRC’s 3. But that did not stop the team from winning.
”I spent the whole of last night celebrating my country’s win. I will not work today because am exhausted but I do not mind because our country won.” said Pierre Mbali, a 29 yr old businessman in Kinshasa city. He said that he spent the whole night dancing and taking beers in Kinshasa club.
But although DRC won, the match ended when their team was less by 2 players. One was given red card and another one was injured but could not be replaced because already 3 substitutes had been fielded.
Joyce Lomalisa played only 16 minutes and was sent off the pitch after acquiring 2 yellow cards. After getting injury, Captain Zakuwani left 8 minutes to end of the game but was not replaced.
