RAMADAN GIST – DAY 10: Is he still around?

0

Prophet Mohamed said, “O people the blessed month of Ramadan is approaching and Allah has ordained for you to fast in this month and in this month gates of heaven will be opened and the gates of the hell will be closed and the devils will be chained, in this month is a night which is better than thousand months and a person who is deprived of the blessings of this month is truly a deprived person.”

“And the devils will be chained” – this part of the hadeeth is what got many confusing. And in this article, I will insha Allah try to share what that statement explicitly means.

People still do mischievous acts, they still miss prayers and still continue to divert their attention from the prayer so is Shaitan still around?

Islamic scholars simply the answer thus:

Chained is not the same as killed and it is not the same as destroyed completely. Chained doesn’t mean that he has no power left with him anymore but it rather means that his power has been reduced to certain extent by the grace of Allah and that he cannot shoot from far and that he cannot get into your system without you giving him the space to control.

Shaitan does his job with excellence and perfection but then his plots are never too strong for a strong believer. He knows what to do first and starts with your loopholes, the sooner you take care of your loopholes, the sooner you destroy his first steps and that will be a great blow in his face.

Allah said in the Quran, “Be careful of the footsteps of the Satan for he is to you an avowed enemy.” But, to make things little worse, he is that one enemy who as said by prophet Mohamed, “runs through your veins” he knows you before you get to know your self, he knows what to say at the right time, Allah said beware of the footsteps of shaitan and that is undoubtedly telling us his way to conquer our heart and mind. He does not come directly but he instead takes steps and step after step until he captures what he wanted.

Secure a safe distance from shaitan and you will be safe from him, know that he is still around but he has been deprived of the power he had before Ramadan. The distance you in between you and shaitan will be the same distance your are going to be away for him after Ramadan, in sha Allah.

And that brings us to the end of today’s article. I hope this article clarifies a question we all once had.

May Allah grant us the ability to stay the farthest from Shaitan and his whisperers.

Wa salaamu Aliakum wa Rahmatuallahi
