Russia.s football governing body has sent messages to African countries visa-free entry to the country during the 2018 world cup.
” We are in receipt of an official communication by the Government of the Russian Federation through its Embassy in Kampala about Free Visa during 2018 world cup” said Thomas Odwori a member of football governing body in Kenya..
The communication said that foreign citizens visiting Russia for the FIFA Football World Cup 2018 will enter and leave the Russian
Federation with a personalized spectator card (“Fan-ID”) attached, in hard or soft copies and a valid travel document (foreign ordinary,
official or diplomatic passport) without the Russian Visa.
The period of the visa-free entry for the spectators of the FIFA confederations Cup 2017 is from June 12, 2017. The period of the visa-free entry for the spectators of the FIFA Football World Cup 2018 will be communicated in due course.
The Embassy of the Russian Federation has requested that the above information be availed to he general public, all air carriers operating in Uganda as well as border and immigration control authorities.
