Uzbek Government pays special attention mercy homes

A resolution has recently been passed by the cabinet of ministers in Uzbekistan that the Uzbek Government will henceforth be paying special attention to those who are in mercy homes.

That resolution provided the creation of Extra-budgetary Fund on Wednesday by the government officials for supporting Muruvvat and Sakhovat Mercy Homes under the Ministry of Health and the Republican Board of Trustees for supporting the Activities of Muruvvat and Sakhovat Mercy Homes.

According to BBC world, Uzbek official announced fund’s resources which would be form at the expense of charitable donations, technical assistance (grants) and other non-prohibited means.

In accordance to that they would be used to develop and strengthen the material and technical base of Muruvvat and Sakhovat Mercy Homes.

Furthermore, those resources would be use to support the social, medical and cultural services, the creation of favorable conditions for living, the organization and holding various cultural events, competitions, sports competitions, seminars and other purposes to support disabled people and the elderly.

In addition to that, the Republican Board of Trustees for Support the Activities of Muruvvat and Sakhovat Mercy Homes had units in various regions of the country according to the official News Agency in Uzbekistan.

The foremost task of the Board was to develop and implement state programs on social support for the disabled and the elderly, to strengthen the material and technical base, to improve the premises and areas of mercy houses, to create an effective system of providing medical and social assistance to handicapped people and old people.
