A mere falacy: Muslim activist claims the Quran supports same-sex marriage

Many muslims have condemned the man who recenlty claimed that the Quran supports same sex marriage. This Muslim activist who claimed this has raised many eyebrows on the matter.

Reports confirmed that the Islamic activist and university student Fahad Ali has this week founded Muslims for Marriage Equality as the Turnbull Government in Australia embarks on a postal vote on the issue. He argues that the Quran supports his position, even though homosexual acts are punishable by death in 10 Muslim-majority nations with Sharia law, including Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Speaking with some concerned Muslims on this matter, many of them insisted that there is no verse in the Quran that appreciates or permits homosexuality or same sex marriage. They insisted that if it was accepted in Islam, sharia law wouldn’t have charged it with a death penalty.

Even though Theresa May has expressed support for marriage equality in Northern Ireland and said she understands why LGBT+ people might be worried by the Conservatives’ confidence-and-supply deal with the DUP, it is highly condemned in Islam. She said:

“I want all British citizens to enjoy the fullest freedoms and protections. That includes equal marriage – because marriage should be for everyone, regardless of their sexualit.”

In response to the muslim activist who claimed that the Quran accepts same sex marriage, a devoted muslim, Sadik Ahmed quoted some verses that preached against homosexuality and same marriage:
“Do ye commit lewdness such as no people in creation (ever) committed before you? For ye practice your lusts on men in preference to women: ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds.” Qur’an 7:80-81

He further added another quote that spoke against same sex marriage:
“What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, and leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are forward folk.” Qur’an 26:165

He further explained that God forbids such act and that whoever partakes in the act has committed a terrible sin and should be punished accordingly:
“When a man mounts another man, the throne of God shakes. Kill the one that is doing it and also kill the one that it is being done to.” He added this saying that the penalty for homosexuality is death.

In addition, a concerned christian, Adams explained that there is no holy book that will accept homosexuality. He said even the bible condemns it:

” I don’t know why someone will claim that homosexual or same sex marriage is acceptable in the Quran. We all know that Muslims are very modest and so is their holy book, so saying it is acceptable can never be true. He should recite the part of the Quran that says so, then we will believe him.”

Muslims have spoken out against homosexual acts. Many believed the recent claim is to lure people into the unethical act. Muslims all over the world are being called upon to caution themselves against deceits and hypocrisy.
