(New York, 11/25/17) The Majlis Ash-Shura Islamic Leadership Council) of New York, condemns the criminal attack by violent extremists on innocent worshipers at a Mosque in Bir El-Abed, Egypt that resulted in killing more than three hundred and injuring 128 others. We express our condolences and sympathy to the families and friends of the victims and pray for a speedy recovery to the wounded.
Violent extremists detonated a bomb inside the “crowded mosque in the Sinai Peninsula on Friday, and then sprayed gunfire on panicked worshipers as they fled, killing at least 305 people and wounding at least 128 others.” Whoever takes the life of a human being unjustly is like taking the life of all humanity. Quran: 5:32. Thus, killing innocents under any pretext is an absolute violation of Islamic principles.
We pray to Allah (SWT) to grant the victims’ families patience and accept those killed in this attack to His paradise.
