Damascus: United Nations called a meeting on December 13th 2017 in order to resolve issues related to Jerusalem and unfounded declaration made by Donald Trump about a week ago. According to some of sources, the UN, at the end of the meeting, concluded and declared that “Israeli is an occupying power in Palestine with no right to Jerusalem.”

The meeting was called after the decision by the United States to declare Jerusalem as the capital of Israel when Indian Minister Mr. Swamy tweeted, “Israel has international recognition of the part of Jerusalem as its terrority, and hence India should shift its embassy to this part of city.”

Earlier that week, President of United States Mr. Donald Trump ordered to transfer US embassy from Tel- Aviv and declared Jerusalem the capital of Israel entity.

International leaders from every continent had made statements in an opposition of decision made by Mr. Trump.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged leaders of Muslim nations to recognise Jerusalem as the “occupied capital of the Palestinian state”.

Addressing a summit of the Organisation for Islamic Co-operation, he said the US decision to recognise the city as Israel’s capital was “null and void”.

Mr Erdogan also accused Israel of being a “state of terror”.

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas said, “The US have disqualified itself from playing a role in the peace process.

“We shall not accept any role for the United States in the peace process. They have proven their full bias in favour of Israel.”

Moreover, the OIC meeting was also held in that regard to show the unity against US decision. Reports gathered by our correspondent indicate that OIC has declared Jerusalem the capital city of Palestine.
