Iran’s deputy minister contracts coronavirus
Iran’s deputy health minister Iraj Harirchi has contracted Corona virus.
The Minister contracted the virus a day after he was seen sweating profusely and wiping his face several times at a press conference.
Harirchi confirmed this in a short video he posted on social media on Tuesday.
“I wanted to tell you that I am also infected with the coronavirus. I had a fever yesterday and the initial test was positive last night after which I immediately isolated myself,” he said.
The deputy minister however sounded optimistic about the government’s ability to contain the virus.
He stated that with people and military support that they “would be victorious against the virus.”
“We will defeat the Corona virus. I am saying this deep from my heart,” Harirchi added.
In another development, a member of the parliament, Mahmoud Sadeghi, has also reportedly been tested positive, which leaves room for doubt as to the possibility of many other members of the parliament not have already been affected.
