COVID-19: US death toll reaches 2000

The United States has recorded an overwhelming death toll of 2000 resulting from the pandemic coronavirus.

The number of deaths has doubled within two days emphasizing the rate at which the virus is spreading in the country.

President Trump tweeted this on Saturday night asking the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention to issue a strong travel advisory.

He however stated, “That quarantine in New York – the epicenter of the pandemic in US – will not be necessary.”

The Office for Civil Rights, Department of Health and Human Services has also urged health care providers to not ration care for covid -19 patients based on disability or age.

Among the recent death cases is an infant who tested positive to the virus.

The United States now ranked sixth in deaths, after Italy,Spain, China, Iran and France.
