Dominic Cummings faces scandal, defends trip during lockdown

Cummings, Boris Johnson’s chief aid, who has been facing overwhelming criticism over his deviance of the lockdown rules, has justified his action by giving the circumstance that made him drive across England during lockdown.

After lots of efforts have been put in place to get him give a response to the scandal in front of the media, Cummings said he had no regret for his movement during the lockdown.

“I do not regret what I did,” Cummings said.

He further said that the best thing to do as far as he was concerned was to make the journey because he really needed to seek healthcare.

Cummings also stated that he did not inform the Prime Minister before traveling about 260 miles to east of London.

He admitted that he actually was supposed to ask the Prime Minister before he could travel.

“In retrospect, I should have made this statement earlier,” he added.

Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has amidst scandal to sack Cummings defended the action of his ally whose action amounts to deviance of the government lockdown regulations.

Defending Cummings, the Prime Minister insisted on Sunday that Cummings had acted “responsibly, legally and with integrity” given the fact that he at that time had “no alternative” but to embark on such a necessary trip.
