An explosion rocked an Iranian Power plant on Sunday July 18, 2020, in the central Isfahan province, the location of Natanz nuclear facility damaged in an explosion on July 2.
According to the manager of the Isfahan power company, the blast was caused by the wear and tear of a transformer and it led to roughly two-hours of power interruption.
The manager said that there were no casualties recorded as at the time he addressed the official IRNA news agency.
He said that repair and replacement of damaged facilities is ongoing.
“The damaged equipment is also being repaired and replaced,” he said.
Since late June, there have been several incidents of fire and explosions in Iranian military, nuclear and industrial facilities.
Early June, a fire incident in southwestern Iran at a power station broke out just days after one that broke out in the central city of Natanz at a nuclear facility.
Regarding the Natanz fire incident, Iran believed it was not an accident and therefore called for actions against Israel.
According to an officer, the explosion was an attempt to sabotage the ongoing work at the facility involved in the productions of nuclear weapons which is against the international nuclear deal.
Another explosion in Tehran at the Parchin military complex, believed to hold an underground tunnel system and missile production facilities occurred towards the end of July. The authorities said that a gas leakage in a gas storage facility outsider the base caused the explosion.
The Iranian News Agency recently reported a fire outbreak at industrial complex, and another explosion in Tehran at a petrochemical factory that claimed two lives.
