Al Fateh Club Stadium witnessed a commanding performance as Saudi Arabia secured a convincing 4-0 win over Pakistan in Group G of the Preliminary Joint Qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027.

Under the guidance of coach Roberto Mancini, the Saudi squad now leads Group G with three points, capitalizing on the 1-1 draw between Tajikistan and Jordan.

The triumph was initiated by Saleh Al Shehri, who swiftly netted a goal within six minutes, taking advantage of a rebound from Mohammed Maran’s blocked shot. Despite Pakistan’s efforts, Saudi Arabia maintained control, with right back Saud Abdulhamid posing a constant threat through dynamic movements and crosses.

The second half saw Saudi Arabia’s continued attacking prowess, earning a penalty in the first minute. Mamoon Moosa Khan’s foul on Al Shehri allowed the forward to secure his second goal from the spot. Despite missed opportunities, Saudi Arabia’s persistence paid off with Abdulrahman Ghareeb connecting with Abdulhamid’s cross, securing the third goal in added time.

In a remarkable display of skill, substitute Abdullah Radif weaved through three Pakistani defenders to score the fourth goal, marking Saudi Arabia’s first victory since their historic 2-1 triumph over Argentina in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Looking ahead, Saudi Arabia is poised to face Jordan in Amman on Tuesday, while Pakistan will host Tajikistan at the Jinnah Sports Stadium in Islamabad.
