If African countries do not get united and become strong, they will continue to be weak and being manipulated by foreign European countries, Uganda ‘s president Yoweri Museveni has warned while addressing the east African legislative assembly (EALA) in Kampala.

He underscored the importance of the 5 east African countries including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya. Rwanda and Burundi getting united so that they collectively strive to prosper.

Museveni said that Africa was colonized because it was disunited. He said, ‘Why were you colonized. Why did you fail to to defeat the colonizers. You are stupid.’

He said that because of being in small weak communities, small European countries colonized big chunks of Africa. He gave an example of Belgium which he said is very small compared to Congo which it colonized.

He said, ‘By 1900 all of Africa was colonized by small but better organized small European countries which were arrogant and greedy. Britain, Portugal, Italy, Spain and Belgium are small compared to areas they occupied in Africa.’

He said that Belgium is as big as Karamoja (Karamoja is a remote region in north east Uganda). ‘Can you imagine Belgium colonizing the whole Congo? It is shameful.’ Museveni said.
