“And when My servants ask you. (O Mohamed), concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to me (by obedience) and believe in Methat they may be (rightly) guided.” – Qur’an 2:186
Fasting, completing the fasting period and glorifying Allah is what we said Allah is expecting of us during this blessed month and in today’s article we would like to further look into one of the most important things that we should do during Ramadan.
The above Ayah comes right after the Ayah we were discussing yesterday, Allah is guaranteeing the answer of our supplications, making Dua (supplication) to Allah is said to be the heart of worship due to our believe that Allah is there and is listening to what we have to say, Dua is the heart of worship for it institutes a harmony between your tongue and heart and whatever need you put into words is sincerely coming from your longing heart.
Dua settles hearts and what is better to have than a settled heart?
Prophet Mohamed (saw) said in hadeeth that there are three whose supplication is not rejected and the first one is the fasting person when he/she breaks his/her fast.
Allah is bountifully giving us the opportunity to ask for anything and He sureties that it is upon Him to answer, fasting thirty days carries the same meaning as getting tons of supplications answered and having special you-can-have-anything-you-want ticket at the end of each day.
Also, praying for others is a clear win-win situation where you make Dua for the people you know and those who you don’t know and that will be granted for them and you will have an angel praying the same for you as well.
Let us not miss this golden opportunity to make wishes and get then granted for us and for other at the same time. Let us pray for the Muslims around the world and for humanity at large and shall prosper, in sha Allah.
