Veronique Lorenzo pledges EU support for Somalia in their efforts to build a secured country

EU Ambassador, Veronique Lorenzo, has joined the world to sympathize the loss of lives recorded in the Wednesday attack in Somalia. He described the attack by the terrorists as disrespectful to human lives.

In a press release, as published and distributed by APO, the Ambassador commended the response of the security forces, recognizing their sacrifice in ensuring that peace reign in Somalia.

“I am deeply saddened by the attack carried out on Wednesday night by Al-Shabaab at a popular hotel and restaurant in Mogadishu, Somalia, targeting civilians, mainly youth, as they were celebrating Iftar, claimed multiple lives.

“The attack manifests a blunt disrespect for the lives of the ordinary people. I commend the response of the security forces and recognize the many sacrifices they have already made to bring peace to Somalia.”

While strongly condemning the evil act, the ambassador further posited that Somalia like every other land deserves peace. He offered his condolence to the victims and concerned families while wishing the injured ones a speedy recovery.

“Somalia’s population deserves to live in a peaceful country. I offer my condolences to the victims and the families of those who have lost their lives and wish quick recovery of those injured.”

As a representative of the European Union, Veronique Lorenzo, assured Somalia of the EU’s continued support towards building a safe and secured land.

“The EU will continue supporting Somali Federal authorities in their efforts to build a safe and secure country. Somalia’s population deserves to live in a peaceful country.”
