Shah Rukh Khan buys a cricket team in South Africa

A famous film actor and producer Shah Rukh Khan from India bought and now owns a cricket team in South Africa.

On Monday, Cricket South Africa launched a new T20 Global League in London.

Twenty20 cricket (T20), was initially introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Ahead of the player draft, eight teams for the league were announced with each team’s owner, and it’s from those that the film actor now owns a team, which he named “Cape Town Knight Riders”.

“On behalf of all of us from Knight Riders, I congratulate Cricket South Africa for launching an exciting new T20 Global League. We are delighted and thankful that you have made Knight Riders part of the new Global League,” said Shah Rhuh Khan.

“South Africa is a beautiful country with beautiful and amazing people and, I am so looking forward to being part of the interesting new journey and building something special together. We are overwhelmed about making Cape Town and Newlands a home away from home,” he added.

Mr. Khan, also has a stake in the Indian Premier League called, Kolkata Knight Riders and Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League. Therefore, Cape Town Knight Riders comes as his third team in the T20 cricket leagues.

Shah Rhuh Khan, GMR Group, owning the Delhi Daredevils, Mr. Fawad Rana, Mr. Javed Afridi, Mr. Osman Osman, Mr. Ajay Sethi, Mr. Mustaq Breyand and Mr. Sushil kumar, now own the eight teams of Cricket Team South Africa, respectively

“We are certain that our final eight owners have the perfect combination of strategic insight and passion needed to make the first T20 Global League a complete success,” said Chris Nenzani, Cricket South Africa president.

The League competition is set to start in November, and the finals will be played on December 16, 2017.

Kevin Pietersen, the former England batsman, Eoin Morgan and Jason Roy (both current England limited covers), Brendon McCullum (New Zealand) and Chris Gayle (West Indies) both ex-internationals, are the marquee players that have already signed up for the league, for different teams.

Jp Duminy, a South African, is the sighted marquee player for Cape Town Knight Riders.

Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth, Stellenbosch and Benoni, are the eight centers where the eight teams are to be hosted.
