RAMADAN GIST – DAY 29: Eid Mubarak – Don’t misunderstand the celebration

0

May Allah accept our deeds! Tomorrow is the celebration that comes after the 30 days challenge, Alhamdullilah.

And with the celebration comes with a warning, a warning that is saying that we shouldn’t misunderstand the beauty of the celebration but to be grateful and take on a bigger challenge for ourselves. Our mentor, the prophet (saw) used to celebrate in a way different than how we celebrate in this day and age. Eid serves as the end of jail sentence for some and they plan to throw the welcome-back-Satan back rather than looking at it as the beginning of the new chapter after Ramadan and instead of planning against the shaitan, they plan for him. May we be among those who understands and wins the challenge, Ameen.

Here is prophetic ways to celebrate the day with your family, friends and with the Muslim Ummah at large.

The night before the Eid

Prophet Mohamed said “Whoever stands up (in worship) on the nights preceding the two eids expecting rewards from his Lord, his heart will not die when the other hearts will die, Hadeeth”

It is recommended that we seek forgiveness and pray whatever extra unit of prayers we can to fulfil this beautiful Sunnah.

The day of Eid

Intend to pray the two rak’ats of the Eid prayer. Get ready for the Eid prayer humbly and dress up nicely and neatly for the occasion. It is recommended to take a bath, eat dates and recite the takbirs in a low voice to yourself and to your family if you can.

Send greetings to the family members and your friends that are not with you, wish them a happy and blessed Eid. Greet your neighbours and the other Muslims that you are going to pray with and wish them to have a blessed Eid. It is recommended to take two different paths to and from the place of the prayer so that you can meet different people on the way and so you can spread the greetings of this happy day.

Don’t be excessive with your Eid spending and don’t lose the spirit of Ramadan as soon as it is gone. Mind what you watch, what you listen and most importantly what you say. Take advantage of the day and contact with long lost friends and family members and get into the vibe of Eid by spreading positivity, in sha Allah.

May we be among those who Allah accepts their deeds and those who get closer to their Lord with every act they do, Ameen.

Eid Mubarak from my family to your beautiful families, may you have a great day full of joy, happiness and blessings of Allah.
