Popular American actor Nelsan Ellis passed on at 39.
The Illinois born actor, playwright and state director had reportedly passed on due to several complications from heart failure, as reported by Emily Gerson Saines, his manager who told CNN.
“The man best known for his role in the vampire series ‘True Blood’ has died,due to heart failure,” Saines disclosed.
Ellis has featured in Hollywood series ranging from The Soloist, The Help, The Butler but primarily hit limelight in the portrayal of Lafayette, a gay cook and medium in the HBO drama which ran from 2008 to 2014. His character became a favorite of fans since then.
Following the announcement of his death, reactions have been trailing, sympathizing the loss of the actor. The social media has become one gallery of condolence.
“One of the sweetest most talented men I’ve ever met. A terrible loss for all of us. Rest in peace, Nelsan. You will be missed. I don’t know how else to put words to this terribly sad news..,” Bauer had posted on Instagram amidst several of his fans and co-stars who have praised him as a pioneer.
In lieu of flowers, his family has asked for all donations be made to the Jenesse center or the Restoration Ministries church of God and Christ. The young actor’s death is a big blow to Hollywood, being survived by his father,Tommie Lee Thompson and his siblings Lakeeia, Tommie Lee Jr., Babon, Maurice, Tianna, Yvonne and Shaentika. According to reports, The actor has a child, with the name Breon Ellis.
