Boko Haram foils government effort again, casualties in Maiduguri
Government has not been able to put a final closure to activities of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists whose under the pioneering helm of Abubakar Shekau, in 2009. To this end, scores of deaths rising higher than 100,000 has been recorded in the episodes of the terrorists who, according to findings seek refuge in Sambissa forest.
Following a meltdown that has given Nigerians a tinge of hope that terrorism at its peak was no more, this jubilation was short lived by a fresh attack in Maiduguri, on Tuesday night.
It is contained the report that suicide bombers unleashed their wrath along the southern axis as at 10pm, Tuesday night, splitting into four separate locations. It is confirmed by the Press that Jiddumeri, Jiddari Polo Sabon-Gari, Mulai area along Maiduguri-Biu road and a location not far from the federal road safety office, all suffered the gory attack.
According to Damian Chukwu, the commissioner of police, nineteen people died in the blast while twenty three are severely injured and administered in the hospital currently.
Nigerians are wary of the turn of events. No one is happy about the situation of this. It is prayed that security get restored as killings from terrorists are really demoralizing. Tuesday’s blast event is the latest in the tragedian series of the Boko haram terrorists, sending a timely message for necessary security balance in the nation. The insurgency is still on, after all.
